Hub Fans Bid Kid Adieu, John Updike. The Library of America
Some detractors of Updike said that his better piece of work so far was this sport essay. If you never read a book of this author or if you are a little bit curious about baseball (or both), it’s the perfect time to enjoy John Updike’s passionate verve about Ted Williams, the Red Sox’s legendary player.
Fifty years after the first issue of this baseball article in The New Yorker, The Library Of America presents a commemorative edition of Hub Fan, prepared and newly prefaced by the author just months before his death.

After much procrastination, questions and turnaround, I finally launch this blog! As its name suggests, the site will talk about books, my favs’, and literary or artistic discoveries. Every week I will post on a new book on the blog. (pseudo iron discipline of the rookie) As bookseller, I have a lot of amazing books to share. It will not be necessarily the last releases… Those do not need more advertising or more buzz anyway ! (See the few last top sales. Yuck.) Important particularity: it will be mainly anglo-american books, my favorite domain !
See you soon !
